On the afternoon of October 28th at 4 PM, Limerick International College held a symposium for the class of 2024. Sixteen student representatives from the Computer Science and Technology and Automation majors attended the meeting, engaging in on-site exchanges with college leaders and faculty on course learning, English proficiency improvement, and academic planning. Present at the meeting were Dean Zhang Changsen, International Dean Sean McGrath, Vice Dean He Junyi, and related teaching administrative staff. The meeting was presided over by Vice Dean He Junyi.

The student representatives expressed their questions and learning needs regarding issues such as textbook selection, adaptation to international courses, optimization of course content and teaching methods, improvement of English language skills, and future development paths after graduation.

In response to the questions and concerns raised by the students, International Dean Sean McGrath spoke based on his international teaching experience. He encouraged students to proactively overcome language barriers, make full use of various opportunities for listening and speaking practice, actively participate in classroom interactions, and further strengthen their English expression skills through practical communication and application outside of class. He also advised students to preview professional terminology and related background knowledge in advance to better understand the classroom content, and to promptly provide feedback to instructors on learning issues, making full use of teacher guidance and course resources to improve learning efficiency and professional competence. Additionally, he recommended that students develop academic plans based on their individual circumstances and set clear learning goals.

In his concluding remarks, Dean Zhang Changsen emphasized that students should build a solid foundation to ensure they can keep up with the teaching pace, understand the classroom content, and complete assignments on time. He pointed out that overcoming the challenges of English learning and previewing professional knowledge is crucial. To enhance English communication skills, the college also offers various learning methods such as watching English movies, though these should be adapted to individual needs. Dean Zhang stated that the core goal is to strengthen students' ability to express their thoughts in English and, on this basis, further deepen their mastery of professional knowledge. He also called on class committee members to play a leading role in fostering a positive and proactive class learning atmosphere, promoting collective progress among all students.

The symposium has helped students further clarify their learning priorities and development directions, established an efficient communication bridge between teachers and students, and provided important references for the college to optimize teaching management, improve curriculum coherence, and enhance the quality of international talent cultivation.
