To steadily advance the development of a scholarly campus, foster sound academic and campus ethos, enrich students’ after-class cultural life, and effectively improve their humanistic literacy and comprehensive capabilities, Limerick International College successfully held a themed reading sharing session titled “Scholarly International Campus, Hand in Hand with Science and Engineering” in Room 3108 of No.3 Teaching Building on May 26, with all Grade 2025 students in attendance.

At the opening of the event, Xiao Huaqiang from the Student Union explained the purpose and significance of the session, encouraging students to enrich their inner world through reading, cultivate fine virtues amid the fragrance of books, and make reading a daily habit in their study and life. Afterwards, student representatives took the stage one after another to share their insights from reading. A wide range of books were covered in the sharing, including red classics, literary works, social science and popular science readings. Drawing on their personal reading experiences and academic journeys, each speaker elaborated on the core ideas of the books and exchanged their gains and reflections on life. With clear logic and profound perspectives, they fully demonstrated the diligent, reflective spirit and solid humanistic foundation of the college’s students. At the end of the session, Xiao Huaqiang delivered a closing speech. He spoke highly of all the wonderful presentations and urged every student to keep reading and thinking actively, broaden their horizons and draw wisdom from books, strike a balance between professional study and humanistic accumulation, and constantly upgrade their all-round capabilities.

This reading sharing session has offered students a platform for collective reading, idea exchange and mutual progress. It greatly stimulated students’ enthusiasm for reading, consolidated the achievements of academic atmosphere development, and enriched the cultural landscape of the campus. Going forward, the college will launch various cultural activities on a regular basis and keep building a scholarly campus. It will guide young students to cultivate self-discipline and forge ahead steadily through reading, fuel their growth with the nourishment of books, and support the holistic development of all students.
