To further standardize the administration of Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, optimize teaching operation, faculty development and student services, and improve the quality of international education, the Chinese management team of Limerick International College held a coordination meeting on teaching quality management with a delegation from its partner, the University of Limerick, Ireland, on May 28. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on key issues including program operation, teaching schedules, division of powers and responsibilities, and faculty administration, sorted out existing deficiencies in current work, and clarified the direction for program development and quality improvement in the next phase. The meeting was presided over by Sean McGrath, the foreign dean.
The meeting mainly reviewed the academic calendar and exam timetable for the 2026 academic year to align the teaching schedules of both parties and ensure smooth and orderly teaching in the new semester. Meanwhile, centering on the construction of training quality assurance systems, the two sides refined the management procedures of student data shared by China and Ireland, and clarified workflows covering student enrollment registration, student ID application, access to online learning platforms and foreign university systems. It was confirmed that the Chinese side shall take full charge of the complete student registration process to further standardize the program’s administrative procedures.
During the meeting, the two sides held special discussions on foreign faculty development and teaching support. They defined recruitment criteria and onboarding procedures for instructors dispatched by the University of Limerick, and made overall arrangements for supporting services such as teaching workload assessment and visa processing, so as to ensure all foreign faculty members can take up posts in compliance with relevant regulations and deliver teaching smoothly. In addition, consensus was reached on building a virtual learning environment, integrating resources from the official website of the University of Limerick, and optimizing the online teaching system, aiming to continuously improve the integrated Sino-foreign international education model.
The foreign delegation fully recognized the fruitful outcomes of previous cooperation, stating that this meeting has effectively addressed practical problems in program operation and laid a solid foundation for refined and standardized development of the program. The Chinese management team pledged to fully implement all arrangements set forth at the meeting, continuously refine management rules, address weak links in work, and deepen collaborative teaching and administration between China and Ireland.
This coordination meeting has further improved the college’s management system for Sino-foreign cooperative education, clearly defined the respective duties of the Chinese and foreign sides, and detailed standards for teaching, faculty, student administration and quality control. Moving forward, Limerick International College will continue to deepen comprehensive cooperation with the University of Limerick of Ireland, further optimize its teaching management and student service systems, steadily enhance the quality of international talent training, and advance the high-quality development of the Sino-foreign cooperative education program.
