On the afternoon of June 19, Chen Baiyu, Dean of the School of Communication of Taiwan Ming Chuan University, and Zhan Shijian, vice dean of the Cross-Strait and Overseas College of Health visited our university for academic exchange. Representatives from both sides had a discussion and exchange in the conference room 229 of the Lihang Building. Leaders from the School of Architecture, Art and Design, School of Emergency Management and School of Business Administration of our University participated in the discussion, and Li Xinjuan, Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, presided over the symposium.
During the discussion, the two sides had an in-depth discussion on the current challenges in the field of higher education, opportunities and paths for cross-strait education cooperation, and possible future cooperation projects. The two sides also reached preliminary consensus on specific issues such as strengthening teacher-student exchanges, jointly holding academic conferences, and jointly carrying out research projects. In addition, representatives of both sides indicated that they will actively promote cooperation in a wider range of fields, including culture, art and sports, so as to further enrich the campus life of students of the two universities and enhance mutual understanding and friendship.
During the visit, the representatives of Mingchuan University also visited the Earth Science Museum and Taijiquan laboratory of our school.
As a well-known institution of higher education in Taiwan, Taiwan Ming Chuan University has been committed to promoting cross-strait educational exchanges and cooperation, and it became a sister school with our university in 2012. This visit further deepened the friendly relations between the two universities, laid the foundation for the in-depth cooperation between the two universities, and enhanced cross-strait educational exchanges and cooperation.
