Feather Flight, Vibrant Youth – Badminton Tournament Held at Limerick International College

To implement the educational philosophy of "Health Comes First", enrich campus cultural and sports activities and ease students’ academic pressure, the badminton tournament themedFeather Flight, Vibrant Youthof Limerick International College kicked off at the badminton courts of the campus gymnasium on July 5, drawing enthusiastic entries from badminton lovers of all grades across the college.

The competition officially started at 15:00 in the afternoon, consisting of six rounds of matches. The first three rounds adopted a best-of-one format with 15 points per game, while the semi-finals and finals followed a best-of-three format, also with 15 points per game.

White shuttlecocks darted back and forth across the court. The contestants moved nimbly and competed calmly, delivering a constant stream of spectacular shots including clears, net drops, powerful smashes and diving saves. Many matches saw tight scores; players withstood pressure and fought hard to catch up with points, fully embodying the never-give-up fighting spirit. All participants competed in good sportsmanship, adhering to the principle of "Friendship First, Competition Second". Audience members cheered enthusiastically, creating a warm and vibrant atmosphere throughout the venue.

After two hours of intense competition, all matches concluded. The host announced the final results on site, and all attendees took a group photo to mark the event.

This badminton tournament has enriched the college’s campus sports culture, encouraged students to step out of dormitories to build physical fitness, promoted communication among students of different grades and classes, and effectively boosted collective cohesion. Moving forward, the college will keep launching diversified campus sports activities, persist in cultivating students through physical education, and guide young learners to temper their willpower in sports and showcase their positive, vigorous mental outlook.
