Autumn brings refreshing breezes and fragrant peach‑and‑plum blossoms. On September 10, Limerick International College held a fun sports event for the 2026 Teachers’ Day at the West Campus Basketball Court under the theme “China‑Ireland Hand in Hand to Celebrate Teachers’ Day”. Chinese and foreign faculty members gathered to mark the 42nd Teachers’ Day.

At the opening of the activity, Zhang Changseng, Party Secretary and Dean, delivered a speech. He extended sincere festive greetings and best wishes to all Chinese and foreign teachers working on the front‑line of teaching, and encouraged everyone to unite closely and steadily advance Sino‑foreign cooperative education. Afterwards, Zhu Lin, Deputy Party Secretary and Trade Union Chair, explained the competition events and rules.

By drawing lots on site, teachers were divided into Red Team and Blue Team. They took part in five fun contests in sequence: One‑minute Basketball Shooting, Ping‑Pong Paddle Relay, Penguin Walk Relay, Basketball Dribbling Relay and Back‑to‑Back Balloon Challenge. Free from heavy classroom duties, participants threw themselves into each game. They focused on aiming during shooting, cooperated and cheered for one another in relay races. Teammates offered encouragement whenever mistakes happened. Laughter echoed across the court. Chinese and foreign teachers worked side‑by‑side in good coordination, demonstrating a spirit of unity and enterprise. All faculty members took a group photo to capture the warm festive moment.

Centered on the theme “China‑Ireland Join Hands to Nurture Talents”, this fun activity built a fine platform for interaction between Chinese and foreign teachers. Stepping away from busy teaching and research routines, everyone relieved work pressure amid joy and laughter, and deepened friendship and mutual trust between Chinese and Irish teachers.
